Hi all
For this Thursday's inquiry class (EDUC 450B/307), the focus is on inquiry around the notion of community. We will Skype with Dr. Bertram Chip Bruce from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Chip is my mentor from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is also the author of this week's reading:
Bruce, B. (2008). From Hull House to Paseo Boricua: The theory and practice of community inquiry. https://www.ideals.illinois.edu/bitstream/handle/2142/13166/cluj.pdf?sequence=2
This week's reading reflection, as well as the in class activity will take on a form called "a letter to the author". You are asked to write a short letter (about 200-250 words) to Chip, addressing comments, suggestions, and questions drawn from the article. You can also share any ideas or experiences related to the article. Then when we Skype with him at 10am PT (about an hour), we will take turn to share your letter with him.
On Thursday, 9:30am-10am will be your extra time for this preparation if necessary.
Thank you and have a great long weekend.
See you back on campus.
